I am now retired on a annual pension of around 22.5k with savings. I have been asked to provide one day training courses by my old company paying me 500 pounds per course plus expenses. Estimated 6 courses per year concentrated in the spring season. I need to ensure my tax affairs are kept in order. As I retired at the end of October 2013 after being a higher rate tax payer there may be one or two complications to sort out for the last tax year as I carried out four training courses before April this year. I have kept full records and have registered as self employed in anticipation of these courses continuing into the future even though they are not guaranteed.
