My husband Ian and I are Australians with property in London and we're looking for an accountant to lodge our tax return (several tax returns, actually).
We bought our property in 2007 and moved back to Australia at the end of 2009. We were under the impression that we only needed to lodge a tax return in the country in which we were residing but we have discovered we have to lodge a tax return in the UK too.
We need the returns to be processed by the end of January because we don't want to pay the £100 penalty for both of us.
