I am self-employed since April 2011 whilst working in paye. Ended PAYE in July and claimed pension in August. My self-employed is working in education for a private company, earning about £200 per month. I have completed several TAX forms including on-line self assessment for April 2010 to 2011 for which I had to pay 65p, for this time I was only PAYE. I am paying TAX on my personal pension at basic rate. I have had a tax bill for the last 6 months without them taking in to consideration my expenses or tax on my pension, for a total of £52.40. My self-employed work is mainly working from home but with visit to the HO at Hemel Hempstead on average once a month, with possible visits to companies.
