My business provides building services to the Dorset and Wiltshire area.

As a sole trader, record keeping has been relatively simple so far. However, as the business is expanding new issues present themselves.

I have used accountants to help complete the tax return in the past, but am at the stage where I require some advice to prepare and plan for the future.

My questions primarily revolve around:
- PAYE for myself and my administrator
- Employees, sub-contractors and CIS payments
- Whether to stay as a sole trader or if we should incorporate the company.
- The financial and record-keeping implications of taking on an apprentice
- The financial and compliance implications of becoming VAT registered
- Operating business bank accounts
- Growth planning

I would ideally like to remain in control of data entry and book keeping to ensure I have a clear understanding of the company's financial position.
